Usually when you're asked by a super-star artist/musician/band to be their OPENER for a headlining tour... you will JUMP at the opportunity to say yes. Carly Rae Jepsen surely benefitted from opening for the Biebs this year, no doubt. (fun fact: I once was the opening-act for the Jonas Brothers at the Tacoma Dome. Remember them?)
But not this time - an Irish group called 'The Original Rudeboys' gave Chris a thanks-but-no-thanks message when they were asked to open for CB. From MSN.com:
The Original Rudeboys have turned down the chance to support Brown at his upcoming show at the O2 Arena in their native Dublin on Dec. 3 because they fear the slot will make it seem they condone his bad behavior.
Bandmate Sean Walsh tells Irish TV station RTE, "Even though it's a huge opportunity to play in the O2 with a major hip-hop star and a substantial fee was offered, we are completely against Chris Brown's assault on Rihanna. ... In addition, with our latest single "Blue Eyes" being about domestic violence, it goes against everything we are about as a band and supporting Chris Brown would send out the wrong message to our fans."
Kudos to them for sticking to their fans & message. No comment from CB yet (although expect to see some twitter garbage soon enough)
