Surge In 'Adele-sized' Mannequins

Remember earlier this month when fashion deisnger Karl Lagerfeld decided to say Adele was, "a little too fat." ?? (he promptly half-apologized out of shame) Now some shops in the U.K. are ordering tons of mannequins that are women's size-12 and above, citing they wanted more "Adele-sized mannequins."

From TodayOnline.com:

Recent research showed that around one in five Britons currently wear plus-size clothing, reported The Daily Telegraph. It estimated that the plus-size women's wear market has increased in value by almost 50 per cent over the last five years. This compared to growth of 15 per cent in the mainstream women's wear market.

"Curves are back and set to stay this spring-summer. We believe the trend is partly due to vintage fashions being back in style, particularly from the 40s and 50s, which suit the hourglass figure."

Adele famously responded to Lagerfeld's comments, stating: "I never wanted to look like the models on covers of magazines. I represent the majority and I'm very proud of that." [TodayOnline]
