There's another new sherrif in town, and his name is - once again - Matt. In a move that is freakishly similar to the day we signed Matty Hasselbeck, the Seahawks have signed Matt Flynn from the sGreen Bay Packers to a 3-year, $26 million dollar contract. You might be asking yourself: "Who the hell is Matt Flynn??" To which I respond: "I don't know either." I'll tell you what I know about him now after reading one article. (some might call me an expert on the subject)
The good news is that he comes from a great place, and he's already got a Super Bowl ring. A career back-up, Flynn amassed over 400 yards & 6 touchdowns in the Packers final game of the regular season last year before heading into the playoffs. Obviously - with Aaron Rodgers ahead of you, you don't get a whole lot of playing time. Similar to Hasselbeck when he warmed the bench behind the never-gets-hurt-refuses-to-age-or-sit-a-game-loves-to-send-pictures-on-his-cell-phone Brett Favre. Flynn has only had 2 career starts, but I think most of the Seahawk community is pretty pleased with Pete Carroll's choice of bringing him on-board.
Cheers, Matt. We'll be watching you closely... and you better like oysters.
