In case your Adele CD is worn out from too much time in your stereo, don't worry: new music is on the way! Even though she said she would be taking a "five year hiatus" from making any music, it appears her time at the Grammy Awards may have changed her mind.
Will the new songs be as sad, melancholy, heart-breaking, or as bitter as her last album? Or will the new man & baby in her life cheer her up a bit?
From PopCrush:
She told reporters backstage at the Grammys, “I’m not very far along at all. I’m having lots of meetings. I’ve been in L.A. for the whole time since the (Golden) Globes, and I will be until the Oscars. I’ve been having lots of meetings.” She added, ”I’ve been out of the loop really. I’ve been singing my baby nursery rhymes, so I don’t really know what’s cool and what’s not.”
She also mentioned that she’ll be be “visiting with” Paul Epworth again, much to the joy of music listeners everywhere as they famously collaborated on Adele’s best-selling album ’21′ as well as her song ‘Skyfall’ for the James Bond soundtrack.
Being a new mom and in a (mostly) happy relationship, we can probably expect a more upbeat sound to her next album — a stark contrast from her break-up anthem-laden ’21.’ She told Vogue last year, “…At least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy.”
If you're dying to see some Adele, be sure to catch her performing ‘Skyfall’ at the Oscars before she goes into hibernation to record her next album (and by hibernation; I mean her calling her ex-boyfriend back & letting him make her rrreeeaaallly sad again so she can write some hits)!
