"I'll bet you $20 that you won't finish Hawaiian Shirt Summer." -- anonymous friend (who is about to owe me $20).
It hasn't been easy looking amazing for the last 81 days. I've fielded hundreds of questions, facebook messages, tweets, and an equal (or greater) amount of criticism from friends & strangers who question my decision to achieve Aloha excellence. Needless to say; I haven't been deterred from the prize. Counting down these final 10 days of #hawaiianshirtsummer has been a sad, difficult, and bittersweet emotion. I feel like I've been raising a kid (flower child) for the last 80 days and he/she is about to head off to college (in Hawaii, of course). I feel like I did right before high-school graduation, but with less acne & fewer of my friends have braces.
Since today is day 81 of #hawaiianshirtsummer, and it's time to spotlight #9 on my Top 10 Hawaiian Shirt Moments of #hawaiianshirtsummer.
9.) Hawaiian Island Fun by Old Navy.
This was 1 of 5 Old Navy Hawaiian Shirts that I gathered for my HSS tenure back in April, and it was a good one. Covered in surfers, swimmers, palm trees, the Hawaiian islands, & tropical fish - it was an exemplary display of Aloha. Here I am on Day 25 (which was awful & rainy) in the MOViN 92.5 studios. Fortunately for me, just a few days after I bought those 5 shirts, they all disappeared from the Old Navy website. #fate
BONUS: also pictured is my Vans Hawaiian hat, which I'm pretty sure was stolen from me in Vegas for Jubal's Birthday Party.
Check back tomorrow for #8 on my countdown, and check out #10 HERE!
