Oscar Pistorius, A 25-year-old South African runner, was born without fibulas and had his legs amputated before he was a year old. This, however, did not stop him from accomplishing his dream of running on the biggest stage in the Olympics. After four Paralympic gold medals Pistorius made history Saturday becoming the only athlete to compete in both the Paralympic and Olympic games. He not only ran in the Mens 400-meter, but came in second with a time of 45.44 seconds easily qualifying him for the semifinals Sunday night. Also, a bonus to add to his awesomeness he goes by the nickname "Blade Runner."
I've never been much for running except to see if the real Flash, Usain Bolt, can set another world record, but my TV will certainly be tuned in Sunday to watch Pistorious continue.
Check out his whole historic race here.
