Adele Faces $1K Fine For Not Registering Her Son

Adele's yet to reveal her son's name to the public and apparently also forgot to alert the authorities to his existence. After crossing the 42-day grace period, which parents are given in Britain to register their children, she is now facing a $1,600 fine.

Of course this is chump change for her as her album "21" hit 10 million sales in the US this week and as one reporter remarks, "Cops are hardly going to be banging on their door tomorrow...There's loads of reasons why parents are late and millions of couples don't bother for ages."

Any chance not registering him had less to do about forgetfulness and more about ensuring her and her son's privacy?
