1. Go Pow Wow The Native American community of the King County knows how to celebrate. The Seafair Pow Wow averages 400 -- 600 dancers in full regalia, 25 drum groups, and 10,000 spectators which come to celebrate the richness of the Native American culture. This is one of Seattle's finest most iconic cultural events and definitely something ever person should experience. You may want to read up on Pow Wow etiquette if it is your first time attending. (Image Courtesy: munnasam.) 2. Go Lawn Movies The skies will be clear for a night of cinema on the lawn! Every summer, South Lake Union Discovery Center hosts these fun outdoor movies. The city skyline behind you and the movie screen ahead. There is a beer garden featuring Pyramid Breweries and food by Brave Horse Tavern and Whole Foods Market. Pack your layers, a blanket and some snacks and cuddle up to your honey or make it a girls night out! This week they are showing "Easy A", which in my opinion is one of the funniest movies I've seen all year. Almost 100 colorful milk carton boast of all shapes and design will take over Green Lake this weekend. Some will sail and some will sink but all will be vying for the $10,000 in prizes! The milk carton boats will be raced and some, built more for looks than speed, will be there to compete in show. There will be plenty of activities on land too! The Seafair clowns, princesses and even the SeaGals will be on hand! There will be plenty of food booths and exhibitors as well! Crash down a 26 foot water slide, lounge through the lazy river, splash in the wave machine, work out in the 6-lane lap pool or just chill out in the 9,000 square foot leisure pool all at the Henry Moses Aquatic Center. The City of Renton wants to make sure you enjoy your summer! Sunday is going to be the best day for weather but the weekend in general is not look too shabby. We will see the sun and temperatures in the mid 70's. The facility also contains large sun and shade spaces, a bathhouse, and lockers. A concession area, the Shark Bites Cafe, offers a variety of beverages and snacks. Go Bite! It's Bite of Seattle time so get ready to pig out! Over 50 Seattle area restaurants and over 30 food product companies will be dishing out tons of delicious food! This year there are 3 different types of bites too! The "Right Bite" which is a heart healthy option, the "Just a Bite" so you don't have to order a full plate and the featured item. There is a beer and wine garden too for those over 21 that need a good drink to wash it all down. There will be Seattle-area celebrity chefs performing cooking demonstrations too. Don't forget the music! There's a kids stage, an R&B stage, an tribute stage, a jazz stage, a comedy stage and more!
